Curriculum

Our Curriculum Intent

Our curriculum is implemented through carefully structured, progressive and engaging learning experiences that build knowledge, skills and understanding over time. Learning is thoughtfully sequenced to ensure pupils can make meaningful connections and deepen their understanding across subjects.

A strong emphasis is placed on the systematic teaching of reading, writing and mathematics, alongside the explicit development of oracy. Vocabulary development is carefully planned and woven through all areas of the curriculum, with rich opportunities for discussion, reasoning and purposeful talk designed to strengthen language, communication and mathematical thinking.

High expectations underpin all teaching and learning. A range of innovative, inclusive and engaging approaches are used to meet the needs of all learners, ensuring pupils are supported and challenged appropriately. Opportunities for independence, problem-solving, collaboration, reflection and high-quality talk are embedded within lessons, enabling pupils to articulate their thinking and take increasing ownership of their learning. Spiritual, moral, social and cultural development is promoted throughout the curriculum, supporting pupils to understand themselves, others and the world around them.
