A Race Day to Remember

Some of our fantastic Year 6 pupils recently travelled to Croft Circuit to take part in the Formula Goblin Green Power Racing event, and what an incredible experience it proved to be.

From the initial stages of designing and building their own race cars, Mowden Rocket and The Goblin Racer, to racing them on the track, pupils were fully immersed in a hands-on engineering challenge. The event provided a valuable opportunity for them to apply their learning in a real-world context, while developing key skills such as teamwork, problem-solving and resilience.

We would like to extend a sincere thank you to Cummins for their generous support in helping to make this opportunity possible. Their involvement played a vital role in enabling our pupils to take part in such a memorable and inspiring event.

The day was made even more special as our team achieved outstanding success, bringing home three awards:

  • 1st place in the drag race
  • 3rd place overall
  • The Spirit of Greenpower Award, recognising their positive attitude throughout the event

These achievements are a testament to the pupils’ commitment, resilience, and positive attitude.

Experiences like this highlight the importance of learning beyond the classroom, bringing subjects to life in a way that is engaging, exciting and unforgettable.

We are incredibly proud of everyone involved. Well done to all of our pupils for representing the school so brilliantly.
