Year 2 Enjoy an Inspiring STEM Day with Sparks Tees Valley

Year 2 had an incredible time during their recent STEM Day with Sparks Tees Valley, enjoying a fun, engaging, and educational experience that opened their eyes to future possibilities.

The day provided a fantastic opportunity for pupils to learn about future career opportunities available right here in Darlington and the wider Tees Valley, helping them to understand how science, technology, engineering, and maths can shape the world around them.

During the morning session, the children especially loved programming their own robots. They experimented with making the robots move in different directions, create animations, and even produce sounds. The excitement, curiosity, and concentration shown by the pupils was wonderful to see as they enthusiastically tackled each challenge.

Experiences beyond the classroom such as this play a key role in building pupils’ aspirations, helping them to see what they could achieve in the future and inspiring them to become confident learners, problem‑solvers, and the scientists, engineers, and innovators of tomorrow.

Hands‑on learning opportunities like these also help to build confidence, develop problem‑solving skills, and encourage a lasting love of learning in STEM subjects.

We would like to say a huge thank you to Sparks Tees Valley for delivering such an inspiring, interactive, and memorable day for our pupils. It is an experience they will certainly remember.
