Full Steam Ahead at Mowden!

Mowden Infant and Junior Schools recently celebrated the 200th anniversary of the Stockton and Darlington Railway with a day full of excitement, learning, and creativity.

Pupils and staff enjoyed a variety of themed activities, from classrooms transformed into stations to rail tracks running through the corridors. The highlight of the day was the unveiling of the school’s very own “Mowden Locomotion”, a memorable creation that captured everyone’s imagination.

The celebration concluded with a joyful gathering, where children and staff shared juice and biscuits, rounding off an unforgettable day.

A special highlight was the whole-school dance performance, choreographed in collaboration with the Darlington Dance Festival. It was wonderful to see every pupil and staff member enjoy the performance, which was full of energy and creativity.

The event provided a fun and immersive way for pupils to explore a pivotal moment in British history, while fostering teamwork, creativity, and a love of learning.
