Uniform

We believe that uniform is very important in making children feel part of the Federation. Our uniform is practical, enhances the tone and atmosphere, and helps maintain pupil pride in the Federation.

The school colours are royal blue and grey. Children are expected to wear a white or blue polo shirt, blue sweatshirt or cardigan and grey trousers (or shorts) or skirt.  In the summer, girls may also choose to wear a blue and white summer dress. Children are asked to wear sensible shoes. It is essential that each child’s clothing and possessions are clearly labelled with his/her name.

For PE, all children are asked to wear normal uniform on the top half – polo shirt and blue sweatshirt/cardigan – and shorts/plain leggings/joggers on the bottom half with trainers.

This is to enable PE and outdoor learning without the added movement associated with changing. Trainers will be used on the field and may well get muddy, we ask that children bring in clean footwear too.  Pupils should bring in extra layers (e.g. sweatshirt and tracksuit bottoms) for outdoor lessons during colder weather. Plain colours are preferable. We recommend that children keep all PE clothing clearly labelled.

Jewellery

Jewellery should be kept to a minimum for health and safety reasons and for security. Watches and medical bracelets only are allowed. No necklaces should be worn.

Pierced ears should have small studs only and be taken out or taped for PE.

Please be aware that school cannot be responsible for items of value that children may wear.  This would include watches and Fitbits; the safe keeping of these is the child’s responsibility if worn in school.

Please avoid extreme hairstyles. Shoulder length or longer hair is better tied back; it must be tied back for PE.

Makeup

Children are not allowed to wear any makeup to school. This includes nail varnish and/or gel or acrylic nails.
